A major highlight of the 2025 edition of “È Cultura” – the national event organized by the Italian Banking Association (ABI), headed by Antonio Patuelli – is the free admission to the Byron and Risorgimento Museums for the first time during this event.
On this special day, which banks and banking foundations traditionally mark by opening their historic buildings and monuments to the public, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, under the leadership of Mirella Falconi Mazzotti, will open the Byron and Risorgimento Museums to all visitors – without the need for reservations – from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, 11 October.
Since their inauguration on 29 November 2024, the museums have attracted thousands of visitors – including heads of state and prominent figures from the arts, music, and journalism. This will be the first time the museums are freely accessible to the general public.
While everyone is welcome, school groups of all levels are especially encouraged to visit. For organizational reasons, schools are asked to make a reservation by calling 335 7269756.
The Byron and Risorgimento Museums, which have been featured in and praised by media worldwide – from Australia to Canada, Japan to Argentina – offer a unique experience comprising cutting-edge digital technology, a vast wealth of documents, photos, reconstructions, educational videos, and audio guides based on rigorous historical research.
But that’s not all. The “È Cultura” day will also include free public access to:
- The Dante Cloisters, adjacent to Dante’s Tomb
- The historic Bubani shop in Piazza del Popolo (now an art nouveau-style Private Banking branch of the Cassa di Risparmio)
- Virtual tours of the Palazzo of the Cassa di Ravenna (via www.lacassa.com) and the Palazzo of the Banca di Imola (via www.bancadiimola.it)
