Lord Byron on Display: the comic-book artworks created by students of the Coconino Spring School will be exhibited at the Byron and Risorgimento Museums starting at 11am. on Tuesday 2nd June. The exhibition is one of the most keenly anticipated events in the extensive programme of “Coconino Rebels,” the independent comic-books festival that is enlivening the city of Ravenna.
The festival will continue until 5th July with a rich schedule of events, including talks, music, readings, live painting, comic-book workshops, and exhibitions featuring Mazen Kerbaj, Luz, David Prudhomme, Olivier Schrauwen, Miguel Vila, and Yamamoto Miki.
The festival is organised in collaboration with the MAR (Ravenna Museum of Art), the Classense Library, Artificerie Almagià, and the Byron and Risorgimento Museums.
The students’ drawings, inspired by Byron, his life, and his literary works, will be displayed in two specific locations within the museums: Teresa’s Room, an elegant museum space reserved for high-profile cultural events, and Byron’s Studiolo, a room that both the students and the faculty of the comic-books school fell in love with during their visits to the museums—so much so that they repeatedly asked to return.
The exhibition of the drawings is being promoted in collaboration with the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, chaired by Mirella Falconi Mazzotti.
