The Byron Museum Once Again the Focus of Attention

The Byron Museum will once again be the focus of attention, this time in London. On Tuesday 27 January at 6:00 p.m., at the prestigious headquarters of the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgravia, in the elegant heart of the British capital not far from Westminster, the Italian Byron Society (President: Ernesto Giuseppe Alfieri) and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, which owns the Byron Museum (President: Mirella Falconi Mazzotti), together with the Municipality of Ravenna and the Italian Cultural Institute in London, are promoting a major cultural event entitled “Byron: Love, Landscape, Poetry and History in the City of Mosaics.

The Byron Society Now Also in Italy, Based in Ravenna at Palazzo Guiccioli

Ravenna is now officially the headquarters of the Italian Byron Society, affiliated with the prestigious International Association of Byron Societies, which promotes the dissemination of Byronic scholarship worldwide by organizing conferences, debates, events, exhibitions, scholarships, and any other initiative aimed at raising awareness of the English poet’s life and works. Ravenna thus becomes the Italian capital of these studies, and its official headquarters will be Palazzo Guiccioli, which hosted the poet and witnessed the creation of some of his most important works between 1819 and 1821. Starting October 26, the Palazzo will also house the Byron Museum.
