The Byron and Risorgimento Museums are of extraordinary cultural, economic, and tourist importance, not only for Ravenna and the Romagna, but for all of Italy, and are set to become prime destinations for thousands of lovers of literature, Romanticism, and history. All this has been made possible thanks to the commitment of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna and the vision and foresight of the President of the Cassa di Ravenna, Antonio Patuelli, the creator of the Museums,” said Giorgio Guberti, President of the Chambers of Commerce of Ravenna and Ferrara, while leading the visit of the Presidents and directors of Unioncamere and the Chambers of Commerce of the Emilia-Romagna region to the Byron and Risorgimento Museums.
“This is,” he added, “a heritage of inestimable value, which has now been restored and made accessible again, and it is worth stressing that, according to a recent statistic, every euro invested in culture generates 1.8 euros for the community. I want to express my sincere thanks to Unioncamere and all the Presidents and Secretaries for accepting the invitation to visit the Museums.”
The President of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, Mirella Falconi Mazzotti, welcomed the Presidents with heartfelt thanks: “We are honoured to host such an important and prestigious visit,” she said, “which demonstrates how our Byron and Risorgimento Museums are strategic drivers for the entire local economy, here represented at the highest level by the Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce. The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, besides significant funding and the important buildings granted free of charge to the University, promotes a continuous flow of tourists and prestigious visitors from all over the world, significantly strengthening the overall impact of its interventions on the economic and social fabric. The Foundation is not only an indispensable and fundamental support for volunteering, education, elderly care, arts and culture, and public health, but also a direct promoter of cultural, economic, and social opportunities, the results of which have already become visible to everyone in these first few months.”
“The Museums and their extraordinary power to attract tourists from all over the world,” continued President Falconi Mazzotti, “represent not only the realization of a dream conceived years ago by the President of the Cassa di Ravenna, Antonio Patuelli, with the then President of the Foundation Lanfranco Gualtieri, but also a historic leap forward for the entire area, which, already world famous for its many excellences, now can boast another one, particularly dear to all lovers of literature and Romanticism, as well as of Garibaldi and the Risorgimento. The recent visits to Ravenna by the Head of State Sergio Mattarella, the Vice President of the European Commission Raffaele Fitto, the Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, and the British Royals testify to this leap forward, of which we are proud.”
Accompanied by Giorgio Guberti, President of the Chambers of Commerce of Ravenna and Ferrara, the following institutional figures visited the Byron and Risorgimento Museums: Valerio Veronesi, President of Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna and the Chamber of Commerce of Bologna; Stefano Bellei, Secretary General of Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna and the Chamber of Commerce of Modena; Carlo Battistini, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Romagna; Mauro Giannattasio, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Ravenna and Ferrara; Giada Grandi, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Bologna; Cinzia Iucci, President of the Board of Auditors of Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna; and Giuseppe Molinari, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Modena.
