The Byron and Risorgimento Museums can now be enjoyed in a wholly new way; the stories of the English poet and the Carbonari, of Garibaldi and Countess Guiccioli will exert a special fascination on those visitors and journalists from all over the world who explore the enchanting palazzo and its noble courtyard in the twilight and amid the shades of summer evenings. This is the exciting novelty for July and August 2025: visitors to Ravenna will find the Byron and Risorgimento Museums open in the evening every Wednesday from July 2 to August 27, until 10pm, as part of the “Mosaico di Notte” programme.

This is an opportunity to wander through the cool rooms of the two Museums, to visit the Byron Tavern—where the poet kept his own personal menagerie and hid the weapons he had bought for the Carbonari—and to enjoy a drink at Bar L’Incontro, under the arcades that, on 10th April, hosted, among the tens of thousands of people who visited the Museums during their first six months, a ‘Literary Reception’ for Queen Camilla and her ‘Reading Room’.

Given the remarkable success of the Museums during their first six months—attracting major international dignitaries and widespread media attention—the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, which first conceived and then created the museums, has decided to extend its opening hours throughout the summer every Wednesday during the Mosaico di Notte programme. The new opening hours for those days are 10am to 10pm—twelve hours of culture, literature, and history in the world’s most modern and inclusive museums. Appealing to all ages, the Museums offer engaging storytelling enhanced by immersive experiences and digital content, captivating everyone from young children to experts on Byron and literary Romanticism.

To further enrich the experience, even for those who have already visited once, the Museum is offering special guided tours:

  • In Italian at 7:45 PM
  • In English at 8:00 PM

The cost is €12, including an audio guide. As spots are limited, advance booking is strongly recommended, either by calling 0544 482838 / 0544 35404 or by sending an email to:  info@visitravenna.it
