The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani visited the Byron and Risorgimento Museums in Ravenna, at the invitation of the President of Cassa di Ravenna and founder of the Museums, Antonio Patuelli, and the Chairwoman of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, Mirella Falconi Mazzotti.
Deputy Prime Minister Tajani toured all the rooms, spending considerable time in each, both in the Byron Museum and the Risorgimento Museum, personally engaging with the technological narratives with interest and attention. He was particularly enthusiastic as he left the Museums:
“I sincerely congratulate everyone, especially the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, for the modernity, completeness, and approach of these Museums. In particular, the narrative aspect is extraordinarily modern and engaging, and suitable for young people. In this way, the Museums are a real attraction for our future generations. I worked with Montanelli who always said: in your articles, you must imagine speaking both to university graduates and to those with only a middle school education. These Museums do that perfectly: with their simplicity and easy presentation, they tell great history in a fun and conversational way, rich in insights, creating a bridge with young people. I myself learned a lot this morning: I know the characters and history, but the insights and connections I found here greatly enriched me.”
Deputy Prime Minister Tajani was accompanied by the President of Cassa di Ravenna Antonio Patuelli, Chairwoman of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna Mirella Falconi Mazzotti, Vice President Franco Gabici, Secretary General Giancarlo Bagnariol, Prefect Raffaele Ricciardi, President of the Chamber of Commerce Giorgio Guberti, Mayor Fabio Sbaraglia, President of the Italian Byron Society Ernesto Giuseppe Alfieri, Director of the Museums Alberta Fabbri, and the full council of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna.
Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani also spoke at the Sala Cavalcoli of the Chamber of Commerce during a meeting promoted by the Chambers of Commerce of Ravenna and Ferrara on the current economic and geopolitical situation and possible strategies to strengthen the presence of Italian companies in international markets. The meeting also featured the participation of Giorgio Guberti, President of the Chambers of Commerce of Ravenna and Ferrara, Michele De Pascale, President of the Emilia Romagna Region, and Antonio Patuelli, President of the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and Cassa di Ravenna.
During these three days, the official visits of European Commission Vice President Raffaele Fitto and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani confirm the great value and importance of the Byron and Risorgimento Museums, which increasingly demonstrate how culture and history are fundamental occasions for knowledge and social progress, as well as attracting worldwide media, institutional, and tourist attention.
